The 'Blissful Hearts' foundation was created through the love and compassion of Susana Gutierrez, who for years had dreamed of putting a smile on children's faces around the world. That dream began to materialize in December 2020 where, a little motivation and some helping hands created the beginning of Blissful Hearts.

Susana Gutierrez, President

Susana was raised in the scenic beauty of the Western Slope, she graduated from Fruita Monument High School, marking the beginning of a journey dedicated to service, creativity, and family.Pursuing her passion for healthcare, Susana graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Colorado Mesa University. This educational milestone provided her with the skills and dedication necessary to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare field, embodying her commitment to helping others.In addition to her career in nursing, Susana has channeled her leadership and cultural enthusiasm by founding and directing an Aztec dance group. For over 15 years, she has nurtured this group, celebrating and preserving Aztec traditions while fostering a sense of community and cultural pride.Susana also co-owns and operates a luxury pop-up picnic business, where her creativity shines through in crafting sophisticated and personalized picnic experiences. This venture reflects her ability to blend elegance with innovation, providing memorable moments for clients.Balancing her professional endeavors, Susana assists in managing her father's construction company. This role highlights her versatility and commitment to family, integrating business with a deep sense of familial responsibility.Central to Susana's life is her family and her two beloved children, who are the heart of her world. As a devoted mother, she delights in traveling, exploring new experiences, and indulging her children with love and attention. Their well-being and happiness are at the core of her daily life.Driven by a profound sense of purpose, Susana founded Blissful Hearts, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children in need. Her belief that every child deserves love, health, safety, and a memorable childhood fuels her work with this organization. Through Blissful Hearts, she strives to ensure that all children can experience the joy and security they deserve.

Mayra Gutierrez, Vice-President

Mayra was born in Jalisco, Mexico but grew up in the beautiful Rocky Mountains after moving to Colorado with her family at a young age.After receiving a bachelor's degree from Colorado Mesa University, Mayra pursued a career as a legal assistant at a respected law firm in Grand Junction. She found fulfillment in helping clients navigate the legal system and advocating for those in need. However, after the birth of her first child, Mayra made the decision to become a stay-at-home mother to focus on raising her family.During her time at home, Mayra discovered her passion for event planning and creating memorable experiences for others and co-founded, Sip Nics. A luxury pop-up picnic business which quickly gained popularity for its beautiful setups and personalized service.As a mother, Mayra understands the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive. Her dedication to volunteering for Blissful Hearts stems from her belief that every child deserves a chance to succeed and reach their full potential.In her free time Mayra enjoys spending time with her family, reading and crafting. She continues to inspire others with her dedication to her family, her business, and her community.

Marisol Gutierrez, Treasurer

Born in the vibrant city of Guadalajara, Mexico, but raised against the majestic backdrop of Colorado, Marisol grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature, fostering a deep appreciation for the wonders of the world around her. Driven by a passion for caring and helping others, Marisol pursued a career in nursing, guided by the values instilled in her from a young age. With determination and resilience, she earned her place as a skilled operating room nurse, where she became a guardian of healing, navigating the intricate world of surgery with precision and compassion. In the midst of her professional endeavors, Marisol found love and companionship in her husband, building a life together grounded in mutual support and shared dreams. Blessed with two beautiful daughters and two small dogs, their home became a sanctuary of love, laughter, and endless joy.
Outside the demanding walls of the hospital, Marisol found solace in the warmth of family bonds. Yet, amidst the joys of family life, Marisol never lost sight of her calling to help those in need. Whether volunteering her time at local community organizations or advocating for the underserved, she remained committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others, embodying the true spirit of service and compassion.

Diana Torres, Secretary

Diana Torres is 25 years old and holds the position of secretary for Blissful Hearts. Diana was born in the colorful state of Guanajuato, Mexico and moved to the United States as a child. She has lived in Colorado for the majority of her life.
Diana has always had a passion for working with children and giving back to her community. Diana has worked with non-profit organizations in the past, all involving children. She has a passion for helping those in need and wants to make a difference in the world, even if it is at a small scale. Diana is currently in graduate school for a master's degree in social work and is a family therapist in her community.
Being a part of the Blissful Hearts board is an exciting and fulfilling journey in Diana’s life. Diana enjoys traveling the country in her free time and visiting new places. She also enjoys books and long drives.

Ernesto Villar, Board Member

Ernesto was born in Mexico, a vibrant land rich with cultural heritage and tradition. At the age of 14, Ernesto made a significant transition, moving to Colorado, where a new chapter of life unfolded. This move marked the beginning of a journey that would shape Ernesto’s passions, career, and personal mission.As a teenager in Colorado, Ernesto quickly acclimated to the new environment and developed a deep love for sports, with baseball becoming a particular passion. This enthusiasm for the game evolved over time, leading to an active involvement in local sports communities. Ernesto not only plays but also manages a softball team through the local parks and recreation department, blending leadership with a love for the sport.Professionally, Ernesto embarked on a career with a leading rock fall mitigation company. This role not only aligned with Ernesto's interests but also catered to a passion for travel and meeting new people. The job allowed Ernesto to explore various locations, each journey offering new experiences and opportunities to connect with diverse individuals.Beyond the professional realm, Ernesto is deeply committed to helping others, particularly children, guiding him to his involvement in Blissful Hearts. This commitment has been a guiding force in life, driven by a sense of purpose and fulfillment in making a positive impact.In personal life, Ernesto values time spent with loved ones, cherishing moments of connection and support. This dedication to family and friends reflects his view on life, ‘live each day as if it were your your last’.Through a blend of career achievements, sports involvement, and a heartfelt dedication to helping others, Ernesto exemplifies a life driven by passion, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference.

Gilberto Ramirez, Board Member

Gilberto Ramírez Macías was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado, in 2002. He pursued higher education at Colorado Mesa University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Language with a minor in Mass Communication.

Professionally, Gilberto is a certified VIA Trainer from the John Hanley PhD Academy and a certified Transformational Coach through Academia Contemporánea de Transformación. He currently serves as the Spanish Programs Coordinator at Eureka! McConnell Science Museum, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting educational initiatives for students in Western Colorado. Additionally, he is the Director of Via Vitae, a transformational institution focused on providing leadership seminars to empower the Latino community in the region.

Outside of his professional life, Gilberto enjoys spending time in nature, including mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas. He is also an enthusiastic member of a group of Aztec dancers.
